Aspen Achievement Academy is an outdoor behavioral health care program for adolescents that integrates intensive therapy and experiential academics with a profound outdoor experience. Aspen provides a guided journey of self-discovery for teens, which allows them to cultivate individual strengths and internalize principles toward a healthier, more resilient life. Aspen Achievement Academy has a track record of over twenty years of serving teens and their families.

Aspen Achievement Academy works extensively with families, providing regular educational web-based seminars, weekly family therapy, a three-day onsite parent seminar at graduation, and a comprehensive family assessment. The family enrichment component sets parents and teens on a path toward family wellness.

Aspen Achievement Academy maximizes the healing power of the wilderness by complimenting the outdoor experience with a Joint Commission accredited therapeutic component with includes individualized treatment plans delivered by the treatment team, daily process groups, weekly individual therapy, and twice-weekly group therapy. The CITA and NCA accredited academic component effectively utilizes the outdoor setting to enhance learning in support of the therapeutic process.

Aspen works with students between ages of 13 and 17 who have a history of emotional and behavioral problems including substance abuse, oppositionality, ADHD, low self-esteem, anxiety, depression, trauma, academic underachievement, and family conflict.

Aspen Achievement Academy is guided by three fundamental beliefs: A belief in the healing power of nature; a belief in the healing power of healthy relationship; and a belief in the basic goodness of all people. The Aspen experience is encapsulated in the motto, “Through the medicine of wilderness and relationships, we discover the fire within.”
